Lab report abnormality checker

Every lab report lists a result next to a reference range. When a value falls outside that range, it is flagged for your doctor to review. Here is how to read those flags in plain language.

How reference ranges work

A reference range is the band of values seen in most healthy people for a given test. A result below the low end or above the high end is marked as abnormal. An out-of-range value is not a diagnosis on its own — it is a prompt to look closer, often alongside your history, symptoms, and other results. Ranges differ between labs, ages, and sexes, so always read the range printed on your own report.
